Trasporti Romagna
About The Customer
Trasporti Romagna is a well-established Italian logistics and transport company, known for its quality of service, integrity, and safety. Founded in 1923, the company has a long-standing reputation in the industry. Despite its rich history, Trasporti Romagna is not averse to innovation and technological advancements. The company was actively seeking a solution to improve the efficiency, security, and reliability of its fleet operations. Their goal was to increase their market share and strengthen their competitive advantage in the logistics and transport industry.
The Challenge
Trasporti Romagna, an Italian logistics and transport company established in 1923, was seeking ways to increase the efficiency, security, and reliability of its fleet operations. The company aimed to expand its market share and strengthen its competitive edge. However, the legacy telematics system they were using was a significant obstacle. It offered poor visibility and usability, and lacked the integration of dash cams with the operations platform. This outdated system was hindering the company's ability to monitor and manage its fleet effectively, thereby affecting its overall operational efficiency and safety.
The Solution
Trasporti Romagna adopted Samsara's front-facing AI dash cams and vehicle gateways, installing them into their fleet of 600 vehicles. These easy-to-use, plug-and-play products facilitated quick installation, with a cost of fitting that was 75% less than the legacy solution. The Samsara platform, being open and fully integrated, seamlessly connected with the in-vehicle products, providing access to IoT data. This data gave the business real-time visibility of the fleet operation. Additionally, the platform enabled remote tachograph management, allowing Trasporti Romagna to analyze live tacho data. This comprehensive solution provided the company with the tools it needed to enhance its fleet operations.

Integral Plant Maintenance
Mercedes-Benz and his partner GAZ chose Siemens to be its maintenance partner at a new engine plant in Yaroslavl, Russia. The new plant offers a capacity to manufacture diesel engines for the Russian market, for locally produced Sprinter Classic. In addition to engines for the local market, the Yaroslavl plant will also produce spare parts. Mercedes-Benz Russia and his partner needed a service partner in order to ensure the operation of these lines in a maintenance partnership arrangement. The challenges included coordinating the entire maintenance management operation, in particular inspections, corrective and predictive maintenance activities, and the optimizing spare parts management. Siemens developed a customized maintenance solution that includes all electronic and mechanical maintenance activities (Integral Plant Maintenance).
