The customer in this case study is a London-based creative agency that required Profusion to develop a solution for reporting ticketing data to its client, an international live show production company. The agency needed a solution that could clearly communicate financial investment and return through different marketing channels in an easy to use, intuitive interface. It also needed the ability to query a single customer view of its customer and extract this data for use within its other business tools. The agency had been manually compiling complex spreadsheets containing eight years’ worth of UK data including 16 tours, three brands, 17 venues and 1.33 million customers.
The Challenge
Profusion, a data science and marketing services company, was grappling with the challenge of slow and reactive reporting for its clients. The company wanted to transition its clients from relying on manual, Excel-based reporting to a more proactive, real-time optimization. A specific challenge was presented by a London creative agency, which required Profusion to develop a solution for reporting ticketing data to its client, an international live show production company. The agency had two requirements: an intuitive interface to communicate financial investment and return through different marketing channels, and the ability to query a single customer view of its customer and extract this data for use within its other business tools. The existing process was labor-intensive, with information only available sporadically or on the client’s request.
The Solution
Profusion decided to expand its usage of Sisense, a business intelligence tool it had been using internally, to create a new product, ProfusionBI. Sisense was chosen for its interactive front-end that reduced reporting time from 20 days to 20 minutes, and campaign audience selection from one hour to one minute per campaign. Its powerful in-memory querying ability also allowed simple filtering of a large customer base. Profusion opted for Sisense to deploy the software on Sisense’s cloud, which meant Sisense would install, manage, and maintain the server, saving Profusion time and responsibility. This also guaranteed more access and scale to customers. The new platform allowed Profusion to build dashboards that clients could log into, providing them with up-to-date information to drive their businesses forward.

  • The implementation of Sisense has had a significant impact on Profusion's operations. The company can now create complex dashboards, giving clients a 360-degree view of their businesses. This has been particularly beneficial for the entertainment company client, which operates in a sector dominated by giants such as Ticketmaster and Amazon. The dashboards have strengthened its proposition and the quality of its market intelligence. Furthermore, Profusion has been able to open a whole new service offering named ProfusionBI and become a Business Intelligence specialist. Its white-labeled dashboards will also help the client develop stronger direct relationships with venue operators, through actions such as the timely sharing of comparative performance data.
